Morton students take 2nd & 3rd place in 2021 MLK essay contest
Morton Middle seventh grader Jai Kapadia was runner-up and eighth grader Fernando Hislop placed third in the 2021 Unity Breakfast essay contest, whose theme was “Unity: In an Age of Uncertainty.” Their prizes were $300 and $100, respectively. The Martin Luther King Jr. Day event, which is going virtual because of COVID-19 restrictions, will air at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, on MeTV (18.2), Spectrum cable channel 186; and at 11 a.m. on WLEX-TV.
