  • Safe at Home Curriculum

Session one—December 9 or December 11  at 6 PM---  Topic:  My Home Alone Plan

26 percent of youth in Kentucky working families are “latchkey youth” with no adult supervision in the afternoon. This lesson will teach youth the importance of having and following rules when left home alone or with a sibling. This lesson will provide ideas for families to use to reduce conflict in the home when more than one sibling is present.

    Session two—January 13 or January 15 at 6 PM   Topic:  Emergencies 101

Youth will be able to distinguish between emergencies and non-emergencies, make a 911 call, who to contact during an emergency, and the household will create a list of emergency phone numbers.
