COVID-19 response: Vendors: If your business wants to offer PPE (personal protective equipment) to Fayette County Public Schools, please email purchasing technician Matt Moore in Logistical Services & Purchasing.
Fayette County Public Schools is responsible for various student and staff health requirements including screenings, compliance for immunizations, physicals, dental and eye exams, staff trainings for certain health conditions, scheduling necessary nursing services for students, assisting with the IEP/ARC process for students with health/medical needs, and collaborating with local universities, agencies, and organizations to provide health education and other services to schools.
FCPS contracts with the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department to meet the Kentucky Department of Education's requirements as noted in the Health Services Reference Guide. FCPS also partners with HealthFirst Bluegrass, which operates Healthy Kids Clinics.
FCPS maintains the database for students with specific health conditions identified through their student health information consent form. Parents/guardians should complete this health form each year for the school to keep on file. These students also may have an individual healthcare plan on file at school, including an emergency plan of action. Some students require a licensed nurse to provide a health service during the school day, and some students require a one-on-one nurse because of their circumstances. FCPS negotiates with various nursing agencies to provide these specialized services to students during the school day.
