  • Statement of Nondiscrimination:

    As required by federal law, Fayette County Public Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, political affiliation, religion, veteran status, or disability in its programs and activities on school property and off school grounds during school-sponsored activities, and provides equal access to its facilities to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups. In addition, the district does not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

    Anti-Harassment / Anti-Retaliation Statement:

    No one shall retaliate against an employee, student, or third party (including visitors) because he or she submits a grievance, assists, or participates in an investigation, proceeding, or hearing regarding the charge of a harassment/discrimination of an individual or because he or she has opposed language or conduct that violates this policy. Upon resolution of allegations, the superintendent shall take steps to protect employees, students, and third parties who have experienced racial harassment/discrimination against retaliation up to and including a referral for suspension, expulsion, or termination when appropriate. Fayette County Public Schools is working with district staff, students, and parents to prevent racial harassment.

    Open records requests

    Note: During the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, there might be a delay in responding to requests under the Kentucky Open Records Act. FCPS will process requests as soon as possible given the state of emergency announced by the governor. Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time. 

    FCPS accepts all open records requests submitted via:

    • Fax to (859) 381-4149
    • Mail to FCPS Compliance Officer Lindsay Wright, 1126 Russell Cave Rd., Lexington KY 40505
    • Hand delivery to Room 112 at central office, 701 E. Main St., Lexington. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Please include your name, mailing address, and a description of the records requested, plus your email address and phone number or other preferred means of contact. FCPS will issue a written response within three business days of receipt, excluding weekends and holidays. For nonwritten records such as USB flash drives, discs, etc., a fee equivalent to the actual cost of production shall be charged. For paper copies, the cost is $0.10 per page.
